The Geonor H-70 Field Inspection Vane Tester was originally developed in Norway for the special task of preliminary investigations in soft clays without preboring. It is a comparatively low-cost, still fully professional instrument. The Geonor H-70 allows for safe vane boring down to 10 meters by simple hammering, drilling or pressing. It is a lightweight instrument that can be carried by a single person. But most of all, its unique 180 degrees “anti-friction” slip coupling system always ascertains the real friction between rods and soil. The vane itself is made of a high-quality stainless steel.
The Geonor H-60 hand-held vane tester is a fully professional instrument for preliminary FVST investigations. Each unit is delivered with its individual calibration certificate. The authentic Geonor H-60 was originally developed in 1966 by the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI). It has since been constantly improved by Geonor in co-operation with NGI and is used today in over 60 countries throughout the world.
Beware of low quality copies of the original Geonor H-60.
The Geonor H-10 Field Vane Shear Apparatus is a fully protected, pressure push-in, field vane instrument.
No rod-soil friction is possible due to its tube-protected rods. No need either to check the vane, nor to clean it between each shearing (clay adhering to the vane may increase its area ratio considerably).
The protection shoe of the Geonor H-10 not only protects the vane but also cleans it automatically before each measurement. The shoe is particularly useful for testing in stratified, sandy, stony and marine sediment clays
The most commonly used samplers in Norway are the Geonor Thin Wall, Stationary Piston Samplers, K-100 and K-200. These are of high quality and designed for both undisturbed and agitated (representative) samples. Samplers are available for various sample diameters and for use in different soils. For sample analysis, see the Geonor laboratory equipment.
